pakucho cotton

Pakucho cotton is unique for its natural pigmentation, presenting in earthy hues from green and mauve to various shades of cream and brown. Unlike other natural fibers, the colour pigment resides within the plant fiber itself, requiring no additional dyes or processing.

The word Pakucho originates from the ancient Inca language, meaning brown cotton. For millennia, descendants of the Moche culture in Northern Peru have cultivated coloured cotton varieties, a treasure long kept hidden.

Upcycling allows us to breathe new life into discarded materials, reducing waste and minimizing our environmental footprint.

By repurposing existing denim, we are reducing environmental harm caused by the processes used in traditional textile production. By avoiding the need for additional dyeing, minimizing chemical pollution, conserving water and energy, upcycling promotes a circular economy that reduces textile waste.

Each piece crafted from upcycled fabric is unique, with its own history and character. We creatively transform these materials into pieces that reflect our commitment to sustainability without compromising on quality.
